NENA uses the month of May to secure donations that serve to underwrite the activities of the Board on behalf of NENA. Examples of activities have included the Christmas caravan and house-lighting contest, the Neighbors Helping Neighbors to assist those in need, regular quarterly meetings for topics of interest to NENA residents, preparation and distribution of Newcomer packets for those moving into the neighborhood, organizing political forums for candidates seeking office as Mayor and/or Ward 7 representative, maintaining a NENA website, a Facebook page, and distributing e-mail blasts to assist in making information available to NENA residents. Please assist to help us maintain and improve the quality of like to NENA.
The quarterly meeting of NENA will be May 8th at 6:30-8:00 p.m. The speaker for the event will be San Bernardino Chief of Police Darren Goodman.

In an Earthquake Brace + Bolt retrofit, the foundation is "bolted" to the frame of the house. and when there are walls called "cripple Walls" in the crawl space under the house, they are "braced" with plywood to help prevent the house from sliding off the foundation during an earthquake. Your house must be a wood-framed, pre-1980 home with a raised foundation. Application period is open until March 26 for our zip code. The application website is www.earthquakebracebolt.com and is best accessed via a computer.

Flume is a smart home water monitor that allows users to view their water use down to the minute, be alerted of leaks, set budgets, view water usage by appliance, and much more. To be eligible to receive a flume, you must have a WiFi connection, your WiFi password, either iOS (Apple) or Android device, and a compatible water meter. Visit bit.ly/SBMWDFlume and sign up. If the meter is not available at this time, you will be notified when another shipment becomes available.

At NENA, the North End Neighborhood Association, we are proud to be a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a beautiful and close-knit community. Our mission centers on community service projects that enrich the lives of our neighbors and enhance the area we call home. Located east of Waterman Avenue between 30th and 40th street, NENA works to maintain and improve this thriving neighborhood while making a positive impact on surrounding areas through beautification efforts and community initiatives.
